Image of Students’ kind words and advice on World Mental Health Day

The College’s Designated Mental Health Lead and tutor, Jen Foden, explains what activities the students have been getting up to on World Mental Health Day 2019:

"This year’s World Mental Health Awareness Day revolves around suicide prevention, using the theme ‘Just Ask’.

"Throughout the day, our Wellbeing Ambassadors Connor and Erin along with fellow Ambassador Sam asked students their thoughts on what they would say to someone who is struggling with their mental health. Students shared messages of hope, support and guidance which was wonderful to see and shows the work that they and the College put into positive wellbeing and ending stigma. During tutorials this year already, first year students have discussed helpful ways to cope with stress and will continue exploring mental wellbeing themes throughout the year. For any student who would like advice and guidance, tutors can signpost individuals to College mental health services or local/ online self-help."
