Image of Students’ touching ‘thank yous’ to teachers after record results

Last week’s A Level and BTEC Results Day brought just about every emotion with it, so it’s easy to forget that each of those grades awarded was the culmination of two years’ hard work by each of the College’s students.

Through that time, the relationship between the students and their teachers and tutors can often play a huge part in that success, and the hundreds of students who came to collect their results had their chance to write postcards to thank their favourite members of staff.

Below is a selection of the many handwritten notes showing the students’ appreciation:

“Thank you for making Politics extremely engaging and making lessons a joy to attend, along with the amount of extracurricular activities you put on that were amazing experiences.”

“I cannot explain how grateful I am that I had you as a teacher. You made me love books even more than I already did and you taught me a LOT more about life in general rather than just the subject.”

“Thank you for how supportive and amazing you’ve been for the past two years. You have been very special and instrumental in me growing into the young man I am today. Thank you for your enthusiasm in everything you do and helping me when I felt down (more times than I can count).”

“Thank you for your understanding and patience. You’re a great teacher and everything you’ve done means so much to me.”

“Thank you all so much for the support that you’ve provided me with. It’s been an amazing experience  and has led me to consider a future career in supporting people with additional needs. I’ve enjoyed it so much!”

“I appreciate all of the extra time outside of lessons and help throughout. Thank you for pushing me constantly and enabling me to get to where I am now.” “Your support and encouragement is amazing. Thank you so much!” – Mum

“Thank you for helping me get an A grade! I never thought I’d be able to achieve it. You helped me through two stressful years; you’re the best.”

“Thank you for making English entertaining. You’re probably one of the funniest teachers I’ve ever had. You were also so helpful in developing my confidence in the subject, and helping me get a grade I thought I couldn’t achieve.”

“You helped me get better at art and made me realise what I want to do with my life.”

“You’ve inspired me to further study Law at University.”

“Thank you for inspiring me to choose a career path in creating film and media. You have completely changed my views in film, whilst filling the two years with fun.”

“A big thank you to all of you for making this possible. Our son could not have achieved this without your support. We are so proud – thank you.” - Parents
