At Birkenhead Sixth Form College, we are committed to delivering exceptional teaching within a supportive and forward-thinking environment for both students and staff. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly effective Teacher of English Literature to join our successful English department.

This is a permanent part-time position (0.75 FTE) teaching A Level English Literature. For candidates who are also able to teach GCSE English, there is the possibility of a full-time role.

Our A Level English Literature course follows the Eduqas specification and currently has over 100 students enrolled. The course is delivered by two teachers who work collaboratively within a positive, supportive, and well-established team.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for teaching English Literature at Post-16 level and the ability to motivate and inspire students both within and beyond the classroom. They will deliver engaging and effective lessons using evidence-informed teaching approaches that support students in achieving their full potential.

We are seeking a candidate with strong subject expertise, a passion for English Literature, and a commitment to contributing to the wider life of the department through enrichment opportunities and extra-curricular activities.

Salary: T1 – T9: £33,465 - £51,714 (FTE) pro rata to £25,099 - £38,786 (0.75 fraction)
