Birkenhead Sixth Form College and the BePART Educational Trust have been shortlisted for a series of prestigious accolades at the Educate Awards and Education Today Awards 2025, recognising outstanding leadership, innovation and inspiration in the education sector.
Principal Mike Kilbride MBE has been named as a finalist for Headteacher of the Year, celebrating his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to students and staff. Mike has led the Trust to remarkable success, combining academic excellence with a strong commitment to inclusion, opportunity and the belief that every young person can achieve more than they ever thought possible.
The College itself has also been recognised with nominations for Most Inspirational Sixth Form College and the Careers and Enterprise Award, while the BePART Educational Trust has been shortlisted for Most Inspirational Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and Outstanding Multi Academy Trust. Together, these shortlists reflect the College and Trust’s shared ethos of inspiring young people, delivering exceptional education, and ensuring every student is equipped for success beyond the classroom.
This national recognition comes in a year of outstanding success for Birkenhead Sixth Form College students, with 84% securing their first-choice university place, and 30% progressing to Russell Group and Sutton Trust universities. These achievements reflect the College’s continued commitment to academic excellence, high aspirations and ensuring that every student can access the very best opportunities for their future.
We’re incredibly proud to be recognised by both Education Today Awards and Educate Awards, and we’re looking forward to celebrating this achievement.
