Image of Partner High School visits offer a taste of College life at Birkenhead Sixth Form College

Birkenhead Sixth Form College was delighted to welcome Year 10 students from Ridgeway High School and Woodchurch High School last week, while also paying a visit to students at Prenton High School, as part of our ongoing partnership work with local schools to inspire and inform the next generation of learners.

Students from Woodchurch High School spent the day on our campus, experiencing what life at College is really like. They explored the facilities, met with staff, and took part in a variety of engaging taster sessions led by our specialist teachers. From Graphics to Law, the sessions gave students a hands-on introduction to the range of subjects available at College, helping them imagine the possibilities for their future studies.

Meanwhile, Year 10 students from Ridgeway High School and Prenton High School had the chance to speak with our teachers and learn more about the courses we offer. Through informative and interactive sessions, students were able to ask questions and discover new subject areas, offering an exciting insight into post-16 options and life at the College.

As part of the experience, students heard from Assistant Principal, Jen, and Head of Student Development, David, who spoke about life at Birkenhead Sixth Form College, the support available, and the thriving student community.

Assistant Principal, Jen Ludwig, said: “It’s fantastic to see young people getting excited about their futures and exploring what College life has to offer. These events are all about giving students the confidence and knowledge to make informed choices, and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey.”

These visits are an important part of helping young people make informed choices about their future, and we’re proud to work closely with our partner schools to provide a positive, inspiring first experience of sixth form life.

The week offered a valuable insight into life at College, and we look forward to continuing to support and welcome prospective students as they consider their next steps.
