Image of University experience for Year 1 History students

History teacher Martin Lindstrom talks through details of the trip:

"Nearly 50 Year 1 History students went to Liverpool John Moores University this week. The purpose of the trip was to get an experience of what university is like and to have some mini lectures from their professors. There were four activities - two lectures, one on the Soviet Union and the other on Britain in the 19th Century, both of which tie in with the courses our students are studying. They also had an opportunity to visit the university archives to see examples of primary sources that are available to university students. There was a chance to have a tour of LJMU to see all the student accommodation and facilities. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and very informative as Year 1 students begin to make their UCAS applications for university choices. We will be returning the invitation later this term as LJMU undergraduates will be coming to mentor our Year 1 students."
