Halloween Fest brings spooky fun to College

26 October 2026

Birkenhead Sixth Form College was filled with Halloween spirit last week as students and staff came together for a day of themed activities, creative costumes and fundraising for Maggie’s Wirral.

There was plenty to get everyone involved, from spooky bakes and the cake sale to bobbing for apples and Doughnuts of Doom. Students could also follow the clues on a ghost hunt and test their Halloween knowledge in the creepy quiz, with a spooky film rounding off the day after College.

Staff and students embraced the occasion with a brilliant range of costumes. Characters included Coraline and Wybie, Marty McFly and Jennifer from Back to the Future, and the Bananas in Pyjamas. Some members of staff even dressed as a rollercoaster, adding another imaginative twist to the celebrations.

The costume competition brought plenty of creativity, with Pyramid Head taking the winning spot and Nosferatu named runner-up.

Halloween Fest is part of the College’s BeMore enrichment programme, which gives students opportunities to enjoy activities and celebrations alongside their academic studies. It was a fun day full of laughter, spooky surprises and community spirit. Thank you to everyone who took part, donated to the cake sale and helped make Halloween Fest a frightfully good success!
