College Student Scores Big with U.S. Football Scholarship

A Birkenhead Sixth Form College student is heading across the Atlantic this summer after earning a prestigious sports scholarship to study and play football at Jefferson College in Missouri, USA.

Amelia, who has just completed her A Levels at the College, has secured the opportunity of a lifetime. As part of the scholarship, she will combine elite-level football training and competitive play with academic studies, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.

Jefferson College, located in Hillsboro, Oregon, is one of the most competitive junior colleges in the U.S. for sport, offering top-class facilities, coaching, and a pathway into NCAA universities or even professional football. After studying Law at the College, the Criminal Justice programme at Jefferson will allow her to expand her knowledge by studying topics such as law enforcement, criminal behaviour, and forensic science.
