Image of Record No. of Applicants attend College’s First Day Event

The Sixth Form College held a First Day Event at the end of June for all new students joining in September 2015. A record number of students attended the event following a high number of students from across Wirral applying to join The Sixth Form College.

Students were invited to attend on one of two days – Monday 29th June or Tuesday 30th June – and had the opportunity to do taster sessions in their chosen subjects throughout the day. This will allow them to make informed decisions on their programme of study when they attend their enrolment dates later in the summer. Students also had the opportunity to meet their new tutors, our student ambassador team and explore the College’s facilities.

Students attending the event made new friends and enjoyed the Welcome Barbeque and Freshers Fair that ran across the two days.

Kathryn Podmore, Principal at the College commented, “We were looking forward to welcoming our new students to their First Day Event and giving them their first taste of life at The Sixth Form College. It is wonderful to have so many students apply to study with us again in 2015 and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and current students in ensuring we remain a centre of academic excellence and Wirral’s Number 1 Sixth Form provider.”
