Image of BSFC's Got Talent at The Summer Variety Show!

The Sixth Form College’s Summer Variety Show certainly lived up to its title with its acts ranging from funny monologues to serious pieces of poetry combined with dance. The show was bursting with talent and had the right balance of comical acts and serious drama but the one thing all the acts demonstrated was a passion to perform. Overall, the A2 Musical Theatre students put together a very slick, stylish show and along with all the other acts who took part, they also performed brilliantly!

Kaylee Meredith gave 3 exceptional, highly professional performances of 3 varied monologues, one very poignant piece she wrote herself. Another student Liam Falkner had the packed house in hysterics with his Devil monologue, whilst amazing them with his wonderful, sensitive rendition of the song “Mr Cellophane”. Georgia Park also produced a very comical performance with her monologue Juniper which contrasted with her fabulous and moving performance of 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol. Jessica Wise and Chantelle Clancey performed a very unique piece by combining poetry and dance they had devised themselves. The piece was very uplifting and focused on body types. Jessica wowed the audience by singing the song 'Say Something' whilst also accompanying herself most skilfully on the piano. Chantelle on the other hand performed a comical monologue where she was complaining about her grade she received for her coat hanger sculpture which again had the audience in fits of laughter. The A2 Musical Theatre students also arranged, choreographed and performed 3 musical theatre songs from the musicals 'Chicago' 'Les Miserables' and 'Matilda' with enormous energy.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all!
