Image of National media pick up former student Will's blog about uni life

Our former student, Will Hibberd, left the College in 2017 with two Distinction *s at BTEC and a B at A Level and since went onto Sheffield University to study Law.

He wrote to the College’s Vice Principal, Paula, to tell her about his university journey so far and the blog that he runs with a friend which has been picked up by the national media and aims to help new students get prepared for uni life.

I just wanted to catch you up on where I am with uni and how it's going. Second year is going well and I'm really enjoying the course and the subjects I've chosen. I had some difficulties in first with personal problems but I'm really starting to turn it all around now.

I've just been confirmed a place on a year abroad scheme next year to the University of Lyon. For the past year, I've been writing a law blog with a fellow student from my course and I have been published in the Guardian’s online newspaper.

I just thought that it might help people who are currently studying at College and looking to study the course further at uni. We talk about what to expect from uni and the information I wished I knew before I started my course. If you believe it could be helpful to anybody on the course at our College then that would mean the world to me and my colleague if you could share it.

I just want to take this time to really thank you and Adam. Without you and the law department at Birkenhead Sixth Form College,  I really wouldn't have followed the path I am on today and may not even have gone to university at all, so thank you very much for all the time, help and support.
