Our BeREADY Careers Programme helps you explore your options, develop your skills and prepare for your next step, whether that’s university, an apprenticeship or employment.

Through weekly tutorials, individual guidance and opportunities to gain experience, you’ll build the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about your future.

Guiding your next steps

Every student is allocated a personal tutor who supports their progress at College and helps them prepare for what comes next.

Your tutor will get to know you, understand your ambitions and support you as your plans develop, whether you already have a career in mind or are exploring your options.

Regular one-to-one reviews give you time to discuss your progress and career aspirations, reflect on your achievements and agree practical steps towards your goals.

Your tutor will help you to:

  • Recognise your strengths and interests.
  • Connect your progress at College with your future plans.
  • Find experiences that support your ambitions.
  • Prepare for university, apprenticeships or employment.
  • Access specialist careers advice.
  • As your interests develop, your tutor will help you review your options and keep your plans on track.

Careers through tutorials

Careers runs throughout our weekly Tutorial Programme. Through research, discussions and practical activities, you’ll explore future pathways, develop relevant skills and prepare for competitive applications.

Explore your options

Discover careers and the routes into them. Research courses, job roles and entry requirements, and consider how they match your interests and strengths.

Develop your skills

Build your communication, teamwork, problem-solving and research skills. Recognise what you gain through your studies, work experience and wider activities, and how these experiences support your goals.

Prepare to apply

Learn to communicate your achievements through personal statements, CVs, applications and interviews, with support to identify ways to strengthen your applications.

Support for your next step

Your tutor and our Careers Advisers provide practical resources and individual guidance to help turn your plans into applications.
