Students studying AS & A2 Fine Art, Textiles and Graphics and The Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media travelled to The Bowes Museum in the picturesque market town of Barnard Castle in County Durham on Tuesday 29th September to visit the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition ‘Style is Eternal’. This is the first exhibition in the UK to present a comprehensive display of the French fashion designer’s work and life.

Angela Watson, Head of Art, Design and Technology at The Sixth Form College, commented, “The photographs, drawings and notes the students produced in the exhibition will directly inspire their future work – the experience of seeing such exquisite clothing and design first hand was both exciting and inspiring. The students also took part in a YSL quiz and design competition – with prizes awarded! It was an excellent day out and well worth the journey.”
