High Grade AS Success at The Sixth Form College

Last week, Principal Kathryn Podmore, announced our exceptional A Level Results with a record 412 A2 Level exam results at the prestigious grades A*- B with a 6% increase in high grades and an overall pass rate of 99%. This has resulted in The Sixth Form College in Birkenhead being placed in the top tier of Sixth Form College’s in the UK.

Figures released from The Sixth Form Colleges Association reveal that our AS results are also excellent and outperformed other sixth form colleges nationally. Our Achievement, Success and High Grades place us in the top 10% of Sixth Form Colleges nationally.

Figures (correct as at 19.8.15) show that our AS Level performance is as follows:

Achievement (overall pass rate) – 8% higher than national Sixth Form College average

Success (overall retention rate and pass rate) – 5% higher than the national Sixth Form College average

High Grades (% of A*-B grades) – 5% higher than the national Sixth Form College average

 

The Sixth Form College sector is the highest performing education provider in the 16-19 year old sector* and there are just 93 specialist Sixth Form College in England and Wales.
