Our Performing Arts students at The Sixth Form College performed in their own College Variety Show this week featuring Dance, Music, Comedy Sketches and Singing.

The cast which included, Ben Murphy (Compere), Laura Smith, Ellen Watson, John White, Mohammed Zaman and Will Eccles-Durham took charge of the production of the Variety Show including holding auditions, many hours of rehearsal and promoting the show which included sketches such as Fight over Fuchsia by Lindsey Price, Argument Clinic by Month Python and a rendition of The Bright Side of Life.

The audience were thoroughly impressed with the talent displayed by the students at the show with one audience member commenting, “A very professional performance. The compere was excellent, providing a seamless transition between a wide variety of sketches. The dancers were particularly skilled and the comedy sketches demonstrated excellent delivery and timing. The singing and musical performances were excellent.”

Cast member, Mohammed Zaman said he has enjoyed working with his fellow students to produce the show, “It has been exciting working together on this big project as it has brought us together as a team and we’re more like a family.”

Laura Smith added, “It was great to be able to showcase the variety of talent on offer at the College to friends and family and I am really proud of what we have achieved through hosting the variety show and developing our performances.”
