Image - Application Process
Note to all Students applying in July / August 2010 for September 2010 entry - interviews will be held from 16th August onwards with a member of our Late Admissions Team.

We accept new applications to study at the college all year round, but strongly advise that you apply early to ensure that we can accommodate your choices.

Before applying, you should think carefully about what you would like to study and consider the course options available to you. Course information is available on the website, or on the CD ROM that you will receive with our prospectus. You can request our prospectus here

Our prospectus gives an overview of life at the college, our facilities and the new opportunities available to you. You can also see all of this and more by visiting one of our Open Evenings. Open Evenings provide a valuable insight into the courses, an opportunity to meet our staff and students, a look around our facilities and a chance to ask questions.

You can download the application form here and will also find a copy in your prospectus. You should complete the application form with your course choices and predicted grades and submit it to the college* at the earliest opportunity.

What happens next?
Once you have submitted an application form, we will invite you to attend an interview. We hold interview evenings between December and June and will invite you to the next available evening.

At the interview, we will talk you through the options that you have chosen to ensure that you have made the best choices to suit your interests and ambitions. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and explain why you would like to study at the college. We will also ask you to bring a report or reference from your current school.

We will confirm your offer of a place at the college in writing and ask you to confirm your acceptance of a place. The place offered to you will be a place at the college as entry to the course you have chosen will be dependant on your GCSE results.

We invite all students who have confirmed their acceptance to a 'new student' taster day at the beginning of July. Here you will have the chance to try out the subjects you are considering doing and we will give you an information pack and a date for you to enrol in August. At your enrolment, we will discuss your GCSE results and make sure that you are on the most suitable course.

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact us at enrol@bsfc.ac.uk
