Creative Writing

COURSE OUTLINE
The creative writing short course gives you the opportunity to practise and develop your written skills within a supportive group environment. There will be writing activities to nurture and develop your imagination and a published writer will professionally appraise your work. During the course, which lasts one term, you will develop your critical reading of texts and increase your awareness of techniques that writers use. Since poetry has proved unpopular in the past, it won’t be covered unless there is sufficient demand. You will receive valuable, sympathetic feedback on your writing and become more aware of its strengths and weaknesses. The course will give you the opportunity to meet new people who share your desire to write more effectively. Also, you will start to build a portfolio of your writing, which can be used when applying for college/university courses

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The course is intended for those who have a desire to write and are ready to take their writing more seriously by letting others read it and discuss it.

METHOD OF ASSESSMENT
As this is a non-accredited course, there will be no formal method of assessment.
